By Steve Nichols, Contributor A Texas legislator has filed a bill in the state House of Representatives that would restore bad faith to the Texas workers’ compensation claim. House Bill 1702, by Rep. Nicole Collier, D-Fort Worth, proposes amending Section 541.060 of the Insurance Code to provide that unfair claims settlement provisions of Texas’ insurance laws apply to the handling of workers’ compensation claims.
