Far from being a rare occurrence, subsequent workplace injuries in employees who have already suffered one work-related injury are “common and costly,” according to a new report from the Texas Department of Insurance.
From 1998 to 2017, about 40% of new claims each year were from workers who had at least one previous injury and claim, according to the study from TDI’s Workers’ Compensation Research and Evaluation Group.
