Exotic Dancers Sue to be Classified as Regular Employees

About a dozen exotic dancers are suing clubs in Richland and Greenville counties for legal recognition as employees of their clubs, not independent contractors, according to heraldonline.com. The dancers filed a class-action suit, meaning as many as 1,750 strippers could collect back wages if the suit is successful. It alleges that the Platinum Plus nightclubs do not pay the dancers a wage, allowing them to earn income from tips.
