High Court Clarifies Accrual Date for Bad Faith, Breach of Contract Actions

The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled that a bad faith claim based on an adverse decision does not accrue until judgment is final and that a breach of contract accrues when the contract is breached, not when damages result. Case: Morgan v. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., No. 118881, 05/25/2021, published. Facts: George Andrew Morgan was driving while drunk and hit Jesse Atkins with his truck.
