ProAssurance Net Income Up, Comp Premiums Down in Q2

ProAssurance Corp. has reported net income of $43.1 million for the second quarter of 2016, a 30% increase from net income of $33.2 million in the prior-year quarter. For the first six months of the year, the company’s net income was $62.4 million, down 12% from $70 million in the same period in 2015.   At $195 million for the second quarter, gross premiums written were up 0.5% from $194 million in the prior-year quarter.
