Identical Bills Would Make It Easier for Firefighters to Claim Cancer Presumption

Lawmakers in Arizona have introduced identical bills in the state House and Senate that would make it easier for firefighters to qualify for coverage under a cancer presumption. House Bill 2506, by state Sen. Paul Boyer, R-Glendale, and Senate Bill 1451, by state Rep. Kevin Payne, R-Peoria, have passed their respective houses of origin. The bills would close a loophole in the original cancer presumption, which became law in 2017, according to Arizona radio news station KTAR.
