Bill Would Prohibit Raising Causation as Defense for First Time in Treatment Dispute Appeal

Louisiana employers would not be allowed to challenge causation or compensability for the first time during the appeal of a treatment dispute determination, under a bill introduced Monday. Louisiana law affords employers five business days to approve or deny a provider’s request for treatment authorization.
