The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a bakeware manufacturer in Cleveland $182,293 for violations it says resulted in two amputations that could have been prevented with proper safety measures.
OSHA said a 37-year-old worker at G&S Metal Products Co. suffered an amputation injury in June while operating a power press that cycled unexpectedly while it was being serviced. OSHA said its inspectors determined that the pullbacks on the press were not properly secured.
