A highly anticipated case that could shed new light on a compounding pharmacy controversy and involving some of the biggest names in workers' compensation could be headed to trial by early this fall.
In Liberty Mutual Insurance v. 700 Pharmacy, filed in 2017, the insurance giant charges Pennsylvania doctor-owned pharmacies with fraud and overbilling on compound creams. Court documents show that the case has taken on vast proportions and involves drug regulation experts in and outside of the state.
The defendants' expert reports are due by mid-May, the docket shows.
