Longtime workers' compensation defense attorney James Forrester began his first day on the job Monday as the newest member of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission. He was appointed last month by Republican Gov. Lawrence Hogan.
Forrester, now one of nine commissioners, was a principal in the law firm Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, which has offices around the state. He graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1998.
He was president of the executive board of the Baltimore Claims Association and was co-chair of the workers’ compensation section of the Maryland Defense Counsel, according to an announcement from the compensation commission.
