A worker at one of the largest vineyards in California pleaded guilty to making a false statement for the purpose of obtaining workers’ compensation benefits, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office said on Wednesday.Ema Pantoja, 52, claimed she injured her left wrist and elbow on Jan. 10, 2007, while working in the fields owned by Scheid Vineyards in Salinas.
