The New York Assembly late Tuesday passed a bill that would let acupuncturists be reimbursed for treating injured workers. The chamber also endorsed what's been named Carlos' Law, which would make criminal negligence in workplaces a third-degree felony, punishable by imprisonment and up to $300,000 in fines.
But with just one day remaining in the session and the Senate comprising 31 Democrats and 31 Republicans, those may be the only worker-related measures to emerge from the Legislature this year.
