The maximum and minimum benefit rates in New Jersey will increase by 2.9% on Jan. 1 due to an increase in the statewide average weekly wage.
The maximum weekly rate will jump to $896 from $871 currently, while the minimum will go to $239 from $232, according to a notice posted on the Workers' Compensation Division's website.
The New Jersey Workers' Compensation Act caps benefit rates at 75% of the state average weekly wage, although the percentage varies by degree of disability. The minimum is set at 20% of the SAWW.
