Restrictions on in-person medical exams are starting to loosen up, the Texas Division of Workers' Compensation said in a bulletin posted Thursday.
Starting June 15, physicians may resume designated doctor exams and required medical exams (RMEs) that had been previously approved by the division, the bulletin notes. Insurers may request RMEs to resolve questions about the appropriateness of care, but most in-person exams had been barred for the past three months because of the coronavirus pandemic.
