CMS Publishes Final Rule on Medicare Secondary Payer Web Portal

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services last week published a final rule on its Medicare Secondary Payer Recovery Web portal, specifying a timeline for adding security features to permit authorized users other than the beneficiary to access claim information. Enhancements to the MSP Web portal also will allow users to notify CMS that a case is approaching settlement, and obtain time- and date-stamped final conditional payment summary statements and amounts before reaching settlement.
