ICT Hosts Comp Seminar April 11

The Insurance Council of Texas will host its 2019 Workers' Compensation Seminar April 11 in Austin.

The event will be held at the TCEA Conference Center, 3100 Alvin Devane Boulevard, and will offer sessions on pending legislation, recently adopted rules, the intoxication defense, fraud investigation techniques, designated doctor rules, the impact of medical marijuana, and a panel discussion on employer issues.

Speakers will include ICT Executive Director Albert Betts Jr., attorney Erika Copeland, attorney Robert Stokes, and Brian Allen of Mitchell Pharmacy Solutions, according to an announcement from the council.

Allen, government affairs vice president for Mitchell, will speak on a “national perspective on workers' compensation” and will offer predictions for 2019.

Registration is available at the ICT website. The event provides continuing education credits.
