A subcontractor that provides fire protection services at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Mountain View will pay $1.2 million in fines over allegations that it submitted false workers’ compensation claims to the government, according to the Department of Justice.
The DOJ alleges that New Mexico-based Fiore Industries sought hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra payments from NASA in 2016 based on “inflated workers’ compensation rates,” according to a settlement announced Friday.
