The West Virginia House of Delegates passed an amended measure that would identify criteria that must be evaluated when determining whether a worker is an employee or an independent contractor.
The House on Wednesday voted 77-23 to pass SB 272, with all Republicans supporting the bill and all Democrats opposed. The measure, by Senate President Craig Blair, R-Berkeley, would identify the conditions a worker must meet to be considered an independent contractor.
