State Launches Adjuster Certification Program as Federal Reciprocity Bill Stalls

Even though Tennessee is among states that do not license insurance adjusters, the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is developing a voluntary certification program for claims adjusters and adjuster entities. BWC filed a rule last week that creates the certification program. The rule takes effect May 31. To become certified, an adjuster will be required to fill out an application, pay a to-be-determined fee, complete a training curriculum and pass a test.
