The Virginia House of Delegates on Wednesday unanimously concurred in a recommendation of Gov. Ralph Northam to extend the period during which COVID-19 would be presumed compensable for first responders.
The House voted 97-0 to concur with the governor’s recommendations that would make the presumption in House Bill 2207, by Del. Jerraud “Jay” Jones, D-Norfolk, to run from July 1, 2020, through Dec. 31.
The presumption in the version of the bill the legislature sent the governor in March would run from Sept. 1, 2020, through the end of 2021.
