The Texas Division of Workers' Compensation is seeking input on the best approach to a medical quality audit plan on rotator cuff repairs and on what may be preventing some claimants from returning to work.
The annual medical quality review is required by law and the audit plan helps the DWC's medical director set priorities and methodology for annual audits, the agency said in a memo. For 2021, the division plans to examine the appropriateness and record-keeping of acromioplasty or distal clavicle resection procedure in rotator cuff repairs.
