Attorney and local politician Robert Prisco was sworn in as a New Jersey workers' compensation judge last week, the Burlington County Times reported.
Prisco became eligible to practice law in New Jersey in December 1995, according to state records. He has been an attorney ever since, the Times reported.
In 2008, he began serving on the Riverside Township committee. He submitted his resignation last week in anticipation of his swearing-in, which took place Thursday.
Prisco said he sees becoming a workers' compensation judge as "a continuation of (his) public service."
Prisco holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from Widener University.
He was nominated to serve as a workers' compensation judge by Gov. Chris Christie in November. The New Jersey Senate approved the nomination in December.
