Over the next 13 months, workers’ compensation claims reporting in six states will undergo a major shift. One state will make the long-awaited jump from paper filing to web-based, and five others will — they hope — take advantage of new data systems that offer more flexibility and more real-time information.
But to meet those requirements, insurers, self-insured companies and software vendors will have to do some significant reprogramming and data-gathering over the next few months and years.
