Kofman Appointed to First Full Term

The Maine Senate has confirmed state Insurance Superintendent Mila Kofman to her first full term in office.Gov. John E. Baldacci nominated Kofman to the post earlier this month. She became superintendent in 2008 after deputy superintendent Eric Cioppa had served as interim insurance chief for more than a year.Kofman will serve a five-year term through 2014.Kofman was a former associate research professor at the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute, where she studied state reforms of the private health-care system.She worked on health-care privacy laws at the U.S. Department of Labor f...
