Interpreter Wins Fee for C&R Translation

A Van Nuys, Calif., workers' compensation judge upheld a lien filed by an interpreter who translated a compromise and release document at an applicants' attorneys office, despite objections by the insurer that it is not liable for payment for the service. In Narcizo Romero v. Pulm Knitts, State Compensation Insurance Fund, VNO 474374, Administrative Law Judge Rodney Johnson ordered State Fund to pay $165 to interpreter Tony Barrieri, but not penalties and interest.
